Checking To See If The Recent Cold Snap Has Affected The Wild Asparagus

Checking To See If The Recent Cold Snap Has Affected The Wild Asparagus Earlier in the past week the temperature was in the 80’s, yesterday’s high was 66° Fahrenheit. Late yesterday evening a cold snap started moving into the region. Today as I left home to check and see if the cold snap was affecting the asparagus the temperature was 43° with a windchill of 36°. We are currently under a frost advisory till Monday May 20, 2019 till 9AM. From what I seen it seemed the cold temperatures may have slowed the growth, really hard to tell. I was concerned that the asparagus would show signs of a burn or shriveling from the colder temperatures. Tonight’s low may be a different story, hopefully we don’t drop low enough to frost. I will check on the asparagus in the morning to see how it was affected.
