Gethsemane... Jesus loves me/ Parable of counting the cost

Gethsemane... Jesus loves me/ Parable of counting the cost Here comes the prince of darkness, all his horde...
to stall, destroy the call upon your life.
But through the sinless lamb, you can afford
to watch and pray... repealing every strife.

Embattled, stressed, discouraged... you might be.
Remember Golgotha and Calvary!
The price was paid, henceforth, eternally...
That you might count the cost that set you free.

The minions rise in rage against His son...
ambassadors who prate with lying lips:
"Now show me where is God, for there is none...
Let's compromise...for you are ill equipped"

If you've been called to watch... you need a tow'r.
Yet, not a monument to bring you fame.
Through wakeful nights, He'll bless your soul with pow'r
to thwart the enemy, his subtle game.

Opinions might divide and friends might leave,
abandon not the building of the church.
To linger unresolved will make you grieve..
Oh Berean... have you His Word researched?

Proceed in faith and you will know the cost!
(By grace you're saved, resort no more to laws)
Report His love and mercy to the lost...
Then heaven shall erupt in much applause.

The heavy cross becomes our crowning joy-
when in His service, all our days are spent.
No more with carnal passions, to alloy,
approach the Mercy seat within the tent.
