Meet a Halfie: Alicia Fumi | Half Japanese in Tokyo | Cancer Diagnosis in Japan (Full HD)

Meet a Halfie: Alicia Fumi | Half Japanese in Tokyo | Cancer Diagnosis in Japan (Full HD) Uploading a 1080P Deinterlaced version of the previous interview with Alicia. The previous video has some quality issues and can only be watched in 720P. 1080P makes scan lines on the previous video.

Alicia is a 3 time USA Nationals Rollerskating Champion from New Jersey, UC Irvine Graduate, PhD Student at Juntendo University in Japan. She got diagnosed with cancer in its early stages too, which she speaks about and dealing with it in a language she did not speak. And she’s half Japanese half Italian American!
She had to find her path in the US, and then in Japan while battling cancer in a country where her mother was from, but could not speak the language. Despite the tough times, Alicia always kept swimming through the turmoil, and is working her way to help others by getting her doctors degree. Watch to hear her story and goofs and gaffs navigating through this world as a biracial Japanese, Jersey girl.

WATCH VIDEO IN 720P!
I somehow exported an interlaced video, making the 1080P video have scan lines and it's difficult to watch... sorry.

I think it's very good to see more people featured on this channel, and I hope to keep featuring more friends with interesting stories to share.

Meet a Halfie on Hapa Hour aims to hear about the experiences of a mixed Asian person (otherwise known as Hapa) in the world today. The word "Hafu" or ハーフ in the Japanese language, refers to someone who is "half Japanese" ethnically, and "half something else". Hapa does not necessarily include someone who is Half Korean and Half Japanese (since the two are both "Asian"), but the term Hafu can be used to describe anyone who is mixed Japanese and something else.

This series is more or less becoming "Hafu Hour", since I know many mixed Japanese people, but I hope you all can still learn something and possibly relate!
