National carrier ready for 1st commercial flights after 17-year hiatus Uganda says its national carrier is ready for its first commercial flights, after securing routes in the region. Two passenger planes ordered from Canadian manufacturer, Bombardier, arrived in the country in April. The deliveries are part of the country's efforts to revive Uganda Airlines, after 17 years without a national carrier. CGTNs Isabel Nakirya reports from Kampala.
