News24 - Every PL top six club's best-paid player - and if they're value for money
======================================
Premier League players earn a fortune. But is a club's most important player also it's best-paid? Below we take a look at the best-paid player of each Premier League top six team - information courtesy of Spotrac - to determine whether they're earning what they are deserved. From Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah, who have proven themselves irreplaceable in recent seasons, to Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, who could certainly be doing a bit more, here's our verdict. Kevin De Bruyne Club: Manchester City Wages: £350,000 Worth it? Yes The Belgium international is the heartbeat of Manchester City's midfield and earns a staggering £130,000-a-week more than second best-paid player David Silva, and 160,000-a-week more than Raheem Sterling. It's a lot of money, but you pay the best for the best. Mohamed Salah Club: Liverpool Wages: £200,000 Worth it? Yes The Liverpool forward earns considerably less than De Bruyne but is every bit as important to the Reds as the Belgian is to Man City. Salah is worth every penny, and has proven this by winning the Golden Boot for the past two seasons. Harry Kane Club: Tottenham Wages: £200,000 Worth it? Yes Tottenham are another team known for paying less on wages than their rivals, with Kane earning £150,000-a-week less than De Bruyne. On his day he's Spurs' most important player and worth the investment. Mesut Ozil Club: Arsenal Wages: £350,000 Worth it? No The German is Arsenal's best-paid player despite only being used sparingly by Gunners manager Unai Emery. On par with De Bruyne, Ozil offers very little in comparison and is something of a drain on Arsenal's strained finances. Alexis Sanchez Club: Manchester United Wages: £350,000 Worth it? No Manchester United's best-paid player scored just twice in 27 appearances for the club last season - a shocking return. The Red Devils are keen to move him on, but will anyone be prepared to pay his wages? Kepa Arrizabalaga and N'Golo Kante Club: Chelsea Wages: £150,000 Worth it? Yes Eden Hazard earned £225,000-a-week at Chelsea, but the Belgian has agreed terms with Real Madrid. Kepa and Kante are therefore now the highest earners at the club, and are both very important first team players on considerably less than they could be.
