Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended a prayer service in Istanbul’s Fatih mosque on Tuesday for Egypt’s former president Mohammed Morsi, who died at a court session in Cairo on Monday.

Erdogan cast his doubts as to the cause of Morsi's death, saying “for sure, it is thought-provoking if his death is a normal death or there is some other situation. I personally do not believe that it is a normal death. They are such cowards that they can’t hand over the dead body of Mohammad Morsi to his family."

Funeral prayers for Morsi were held in absentia across Turkey on Tuesday. 67-year old Morsi passed away after collapsing in a defendants' cage in the courtroom soon after speaking, according to Egypt's public prosecutor.
