People got to say "no" more often because people are saying yes to everything. Yes to distraction, yes to any dude or women that comes, yes to every activity and they're not lasering their focus.
See, when you say yes to everything, you sparse your creative energy. You're literally wasting your creativity. The only way for you to really narrow your focus is to say no to a lot more things. Not only that it will narrow your focus, but it will also bring respect from the people around you.
People around you will respect you more because you say no more often. You're saying no more often because you're focused on your craft. You're saying no more often because it's not good for you. You're saying no more often because whenever people present to you things to do, you compare it with your value system and you find out whether or not it's beneficial to you in the long term.
I know it's a difficult thing to say whenever you're constantly distracted but by saying YES to happiness will bring a lot of unhappiness. It will bring dissatisfaction. When you try new things, you got to stick to it. When you're always trying everything without lasering your focus, you're gonna get progress but it's not gonna be complete. It'll be short-sighted and that progress is not gonna go long term. The only way for you to truly master anything and get respect from the field is to saying no more often than yes.
A lot of the times we say yes because we want to please people or because we don't want to seem mean but sometimes, doing that you're putting yourself last and people take advantage of you. You got to say no more often and think long-term. People got to say "no" more often because people are saying yes to everything.
