Fish Kobiraji Cutlet, Chicken Kobiraji,, Mutton Cutlet is perhaps a great evening snack for any Bengali and one of the good places to try all these out is the Mitra Cafe, located at the Sovabazar.Mitra Cafe is a small outlet owned from prehistoric times and once been frequented by the renowned film stars of Tollywood.The veterans who used to make the special dishes for the renowned artists has their legacy carried on for the past hundred years till today.
Mitra Cafe is now a chain of restaurants and caterers serving at multiple events. This one that we visited is at Sovabazar Metro station is a very small, yet very busy outlet, where people stand in queue to taste the delicious specialities of Mitra Cafe. It has got two sections, a eight seater family section, where guests can dine in at the comfort of air conditioned, and other is the non ac section of 16 seater, with a kitchen besides. The Bengali cuisine and the Kolkata food is something which is savoured by millons world wide, specially when it come to Bengali snacks and Bengali sweets. We asked for the recommendation of the best selling items of the restaurant, and we had ordered a Diamond Fish kobiraji/kabiraji and a Fish Chop. It was damn delicious. All of them were served with kasundi(Pungent mustard sauce), some salads. Considering the huge amount of queue , we were convinced enough that the taste was great,and indeed it was. Mitra Cafe is a hot favourite for many Bengalis. Anyone can come & have some delicious food items of Mitra Cafe. It's damn good man.

HOW TO GO : By Metro : Get down on Sovabazar-Sutanuti metro station & come out by gate no. 1. Cross the road & you will reach Mitra Cafe.
By Bus/Tram/Taxi/Auto : Get down near Sovabazar petrol pump( near mio amore outlet). You will see the cafe over there easily.
