★ Wilmar Barrios - one of the three winter acquisitions of Zenit, which seriously influenced the championship race. In fact, Barrios came instead of Leandro Paredes, who left for PSG, but their functions were completely different.
In defense, Barrios became the most effective and spectacular player not only in Zenit, but throughout the RPL. Wilmar famously works as a corps, due to which his selections are very spectacular. And the selections themselves are many - in terms of their total number, Barrios became the second in Zenit in just ten matches. Wilmar took the second place in the RPL in terms of the number of selections, but two points are important here: firstly, the Colombian in the spring became the best by a wide margin, and secondly, you need to make adjustments to the defensive actions on the possession of the ball.
Another cool defensive quality of Barrios is the interruption of the opponent’s counterattacks. The most revealing episodes in this regard happened in matches with Spartak and Lokomotiv: Hanni and Manuel Fernandes (one of the most dangerous rivals in a one-on-one game) received the ball in midfield and had 15–20 meters of free space in front of them. Barrios met opponents (four defenders remained behind him - and at a sufficient distance) and intercepted the ball, not only interrupting a quick attack, but also starting his counterattack.

Еще одно крутое оборонительное качество Барриоса — прерывание контратак соперника. Самые показательные в этом плане эпизоды случились в матчах со «Спартаком» и «Локомотивом»: Ханни и Мануэль Фернандеш (одни из самых опасных соперников по игре один в один) получали мяч в центре поля и имели перед собой 15–20 метров свободного пространства. Барриос встречал соперников (за его спиной оставались четыре защитника — причем на достаточном расстоянии) и перехватывал мяч, не только прерывая быструю атаку, но и начиная свою контратаку.
