I lost on the best relationship of my life ( atleast so far ) . And I guess its okay that I did.
.
Like things happen to you, you experience them, grow from them, change from them.
.
So a little bit about me.
.
I had the perfect relationship. The perfect girlfriend. The perfect everything ( Or so it was in my head).
.
We went on to a long distance.
.
I started working for 20 hours a day.
.
My priorities changed. Everyones does.
.
I prioritised work and people around me more than the relationship.
.
My life started rotating around work and things that I wanted to do ( Quite a selfish guy like that).
.
My life became about me , my growth and what I want to do. Narcissist ; Some would say.
.
Weirdly enough, most of what i want to do is to impact and change a lot of things in the world. For a better future. Selfless ; Some would say
.
But that happened.
.
The relationship died.
.
I realised my mistakes.
.
I then realised what I lost out on. I lost my best friend.
.
And I had an unrealistic philosophy that people around me will always stay around me. Because somewhere inside I love them and they love me.
.
But it took me a while to realise, that no one stays.
.
The people you surround yourself with, or the people that are around you, are a result of your investment of time and energy into them.
.
These people will constantly change, come and go in your life. As you grow with time, new people will come in with new perspectives, which is good and required to learn and grow.
.
So change is constant, people are not.
.
If you want them to be constant and you want certain people to remain in your life.
.
Make sure you make the effort today to keep them there.
.
I could not. I barely manage to pass my day while remembering to eat. To be in a relationship with a guy like me is pretty much impossible
.
But I do understand and realise that.
.
If you love someone, and want to keep them in your life. Make sure they know it.
.
Dont just say it inside your head.
.

But Im penning down my random thoughts as always.
