How Special Forces Move as a Team | Part 3 | Communicating the Threat

How Special Forces Move as a Team | Part 3 | Communicating the Threat A gunfight can be chaotic to say the least, so we need to find simple ways to organize our efforts. When your buddy sees you shooting, hopefully they will catch on quick but sometimes, they’re too busy trying to get super small so they can stay alive! It’s good to have a way of orienting them quickly. The “3 D’s” are a simple method used by those that train for combat. DIRECTION, DISTANCE, DESCRIPTION. This is a baseline for organizing the chaos. Once you have become accustomed to the combat life it becomes easier to recognize what’s going on by seeing others reacting in certain directions etc. But, until then, err on the side of over communication.

Reacting to gun fire from a threat (reacting to contact) is not as clear cut as people sometimes make it out to be. I hope you get some training that prepares you for the reality of violence.
