Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin live-stream warning as illegal YouTube links go live

Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin live-stream warning as illegal YouTube links go live The bout is set to pull in fight fans from across the globe, with the majority paying to see the match on BT Sports Box Office or ESPN in the US. But, millions of people preparing to watch illegal streams online have been warned with piracy watchdogs set to issue hefty fines. Waqas Rasheed from Bradford was fined £45,000 for sharing feeds from Sky Sports 1 and 2 between March 3 and April 1, 2017. Countless streams are also available on social media platforms such as Facebook, Reddit and Twitter. It has emerged, however, that the majority of those tuning in to previous bouts have taken to YouTube over other platforms. Muso, a digital piracy authority, revealed some 13million people tuned in to illegal channels to watch the Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz fight. About 93% of those chose YouTube as their illegal-streaming platform of choice. YouTube has taken several measures to shut down and stop the streams, but many have found ways to bypass them. These measures include blurring out edges of the screen or cropping the video. With the bout expected to take place between 4.30am and 5am UK time, it means many of those will be searching for the streams later this morning. Muso estimated that nearly 10million people illegally watched the Fury vs Wilder fight in December, which was the largest tracked in boxing history. Andy Chatterly, the company’s CEO, told The Independent: “We saw how popular the Fury vs Wilder fight was across piracy networks just six months ago and how a significant part of the audience was coming in through YouTube.” Fury vs Wallin is available on BT Sports Box Office for a one-off £19.95 fee.
