One of Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman's sons has escaped arrest in Mexico after security forces were surrounded by heavily armed cartel fighters. The resulting gun fight blocked access to the city of Culiacan.
Cristóbal Castañeda, the public safety director for Sinaloa, told Mexican television cable news that people had been wounded in the firing, but gave no figures.
