This is a story of my journey navigating through the difficulty of upholding the traditional leadership values as a scout, while also being progressive-minded. Pat Mora is an American poet and author of books for adults, teens and children. Her grandparents came to El Paso from northern Mexico and many of her works center around her Latinx heritage. Sonrisas is one her most renowned pieces of literature.
