China-Suriname ties: Strategic cooperative partnership established

China and Suriname have agreed to establish a strategic cooperative partnership. The agreement was made during a state visit by Surinamese President Desi Bouterse. Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed his Surinamese counterpart at the Great Hall of the People.
