LOOK: Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Wednesday, November 27, delivered the welcome remarks for the 15th Annual Convention of District Engineers League of the Philippines held at the Manila Hotel.
Domagoso was accompanied by Manila City Engineer Armand Andres whom he praised for his "invaluable contributions" in the city government’s rehabilitation and improvement of public places and infrastructures.
In his speech, the Mayor emphasized Manila's title as the “Paris of the East” and how it was deprived of its true glory for almost two decades.
“It’s high time for the City of Manila to be aggressive, it’s high time for us to take the risk and to change things,” Domagoso said.
He also wished good fortune and health for the engineers, as they are the catalyst for the country’s development.
“Kailangan kayo ng bansa natin lalo sa mga lugar na kailangang abutin ng pamahalaan pero hindi ito basta-basta maabot nang walang kalsada, maayos na daanan, patubigan, pailaw at iba’t-iba pang bagay na ginagawa ng inyong ahensya.” the Mayor said.
