R.D. BURMAN & THE VIOLINS - PART - 1

R.D. BURMAN & THE VIOLINS - PART - 1 Listening to violins in RD's song is yet another treat. While violins have been always an integral part of Hindi Film music, the way Pancham used them is what makes all the difference. Unlike lot of composers, his violins never sounded loud or jarring.

Be it the preludes, interludes or even the ending of the song, his arrangements were unique and very distinctive. Whether carrying the melody forward or ending a melody, it had Pancham's stamp all over it.

The best part is, even while the vocals were on, the violins in his songs would be weaving magic in the background, something one cannot miss, even the way he used the violins as fillers between vocals would become highlight of the song.

A lot of credit also goes to his arrangers who manned the violin section such as Basudev Chakraborty and Babloo Chakraborty.
