The DSS must produce Marshal - Akin Sowore

The DSS must produce Marshal - Akin Sowore Akin Sowore, the sibling and counsel to Omoyele #Sowore has requested that the #DSS must produce the man strangling Sowore and pulling him to the ground.
It is no longer news that the convener of the #revolution-now protest and former presidential candidate in Nigeria, Omoyele Sowore has been re-arrested by Nigeria’s secret police. However, what is generating concerns is the manner in which he was arrested last Friday at the federal high court Abuja. The dramatic scenes in and out of the court room continues to receive condemnation both locally and internationally. However, the DSS in a statement by its public relations officer, Peter Afunanya has denied invading the court while accusing Mr Sowore and his supporters of orchestrating the drama simply to serve a propagandist purpose, it also added the agency did not make any effort to re-arrest olawale bakare.
Following the re-arrest of Omoyele Sowore, the Nigerian bar association has called for the immediate suspension of Yusuf Bichi, the director-general of the department of state services. In a statement, NBA describes what it calls the "passion for lawlessness and disrespect for the rule of law by agents of the DSS" as appalling. More disgraceful according to the body of lawyers, is that the unrest interrupted judicial proceedings and made the presiding judge abandon judicial affairs because of safety concerns. It added that disrespect for court orders by the DSS has become unrivalled under President Muhammad Buhari. Sowore who is facing charges of treasonable felony and cyber-stalking brought against him by the government, was first arrested on august 3rd ahead of a protest he was promoting. More so, more than 200 civil society organizations are demanding the release of Sowore and others they say have been illegally detained by the state security services. A mass action is being threatened against the Nigerian government if activist and journalist Omoyele Sowore is not released within 14 days. An earlier version of this report used information from Sowore's outlet Sahara reporters that the coalition would shut down the country - they are actually threatening to occupy human rights commissions across Nigeria.
Joining us from our Abuja studio is Akin Sowore, his sibling and one of the legal counsel to the accused who was present during the re-arrest.
