Coming to you from Skinny Mike's Bar (soft re-opening) in Taguig City, a straightedge 'kabalyero' is here once again to give you the reactions of Filipino fans, the most underrated in all of professional wrestling fandom, this time to the 2020 Women's Royal Rumble match. While it was a solid Rumble, the fact that it was paired with undoubtedly one of the best men's Rumble bouts of all time hurt its impact for me. There were some bright spots, especially NXT's Shayna Baszler and Bianca Belair. However, the fact that a big portion of fans (even at the bar) were not as engaged with many of the NXT ladies lowered the match's quality a bit. Maybe another year of development would make them even more over. Also, the fact that Sasha Banks (my pick), Nia Jax, Ruby Riott, Ember Moon, Billie Jay, Peyton Royce, and Mickie James were not in this one showed just how shallow the "main roster" division is. It's time to develop the rest of the female Superstars!
That said, I'm fine with Charlotte Flair winning. Stone Cold won a third one, the match when Kane dominated and it turned out fine. I'd rather wait and see how this one pans out. And I'm fine with Santina Marella entering this Rumble too. Women have entered the men's Rumble; why can't the other way around? Did it really harm anyone, to be honest?
