The process starts by ensuring that the virtual machine is able to ping other network within the same branch as well as other branches. Next, two devices are created and configured for two different groups, being ‘NetworkEngineers’ and ‘JuniorSystemAdministrators’. Users that have privileges for the groups can later access these devices in order to monitor the network in a specific manner, by making use of sensors. In this video, the ‘ping’, ‘snmp system uptime’ and the ‘snmp traffic’ sensors are implemented in both devices. Please note that prior to the start of capturing this video, the device ‘SNMPv3 Sales JuniorSystemAdministrators’ has already been configured with user ‘Josh’ and with the ‘snmp traffic’ sensor that was connected to all the interfaces of the router in question. However, the devices are still accessed so that the viewers are able to observe the configuration and values that have been entered.
