JEE Main & NEET Revision Checklist 13 | Fluid Statics

The topic of fluid statics is a basic topic which students are studying since grade 9 and always from this topic one or more questions are asked in NEET and JEE Main. This topic also involves the applications of laws of motion in detail when applied on fluid bodies. As in this topic of fluid statics we analyze fluids at rest which is the state of equilibrium.


In state of equilibrium of a rigid body we balance all the forces acting on a body whereas in case of fluids at rest we consider at every point on fluid body pressure is balanced. Pressure is a scalar quantity so instead of considering it directionless we consider that force due to fluid pressure at every point in fluid body acts in all direction.
