In our daily quest to send our numerous request to Allah; the need for intermediaries pop-up depending on individual faith. It is human to put something forward when seeking for favour and it is same with Allah. In our various offices for example, one can only be promoted based on his / her effort on the job; the contributions he has made over the period stood in for him as an asset to achieve that promotion. The traditional worshipers in Yoruba land believe so much in using Obatala, and a host other names as intermediaries to get in touch with the supreme creator.
The Christians on the Other hand believed that, it is only through Jesus that one can receive any favour from God.
In the Islamic circle, Muslims also believed that, the holy Prophet Muhammad is good enough as an intermediary through which their prayers and request get to Allah (S.W.T) One thing that is constant in the entire believe of humanity (mankind) is the fact that there is God (Allah); This therefore create no doubt that Allah is One and that we must all learn to know more about HIM and HIS rule.
What then is the stands of Allah on intermediary? Is any of this Messengers or those names mentioned by the traditionalist good enough to get our prayers across to the almighty Creator?
