Coronavirus: Is the UK’s response to China virus proportionate? - BBC Newsnight Britain has banned all but essential travel to China however there have been no confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK. Subscribe to our channel here:


British Airways has taken active steps in stopping the spread of the coronavirus and has suspended all flights between the UK and China.

Hundreds of British citizens being flown back to the UK from Wuhan will be put in quarantine for two weeks on their arrival.
It’s believed that passengers will have to sign a contract committing to the quarantine period.

So is the UK’s response too severe and how worried should we be? Is the spread of panic travelling faster than the virus?
