Coronavirus vs flu: Which is more dangerous? | DW News

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak is now more than 600. So far, nearly all of the deaths have occurred in mainland China. Despite the virus's rapid spread, many experts are calling for calm. They warn that while the outbreak is worrying, the global danger from flu is just as serious. Experts complain that while the spread of the coronavirus is frightening, there's a much worse group of viral killers with victim numbers that are far higher every year so far. Why? Because we've been living with "the flu" for centuries.
