Fake news law: High Court dismisses SDP's appeal against three correction directions

The High Court released a judgement on Feb 5, dismissing the Singapore Democratic Party's appeal against three correction directions issued against them by Manpower Minister Josephine Teo. The directions were issued over an article and two Facebook posts made in 2019 after the fake news law was implemented. SDP's appeal is the first court challenge against the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA). Mrs Teo had rejected the opposition party's application to cancel the directions.
