Solskjaer says Utd will only sign the right characters this summer in dig at flops

Solskjaer says Utd will only sign the right characters this summer in dig at flops OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has delivered a damning slight on some of his Manchester United stars - by insisting any new players he signs have to be the right kind of person.
Solskjaer is planning a major overhaul of his squad this summer having told his under-performing players several will be flogged in the coming weeks.
The United boss has struggled to contain a dressing room full of big egos - with stars clashing over bonus payments.
Now Solskjaer insists the number one characteristic any player he signs must have is the right attitude and willingness to work.
He said: "We’ve tried to educate our players and our kids to be proper people. In my view, the best players have always been the best people.
"You have to have that value system and a certain kind of attitude about you to make a Man Utd player.
"You have got to have the qualities and our fans want to see exciting players. Of course we want to get up from our seats.
WORK ETHIC
"We want to see defenders who defend like they're doing it for their lives - that’s the most important thing.
"When we go to press with Jesse and Marcus, in the games against Barcelona, PSG, Liverpool and Chelsea, when we start these games, our fans clap a striker making a tackle.
"It’s always been in our culture. You have to have that work ethic and we’re scouting the market, trying to find the right ones.”
Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku are three of the big-name United stars facing the axe this summer as Solskjaer gets tough on his flops and fans have voted who they want to keep.
It is a huge challenge for the Norwegian boss, who admits it will be a miracle if United are challenging for the title next year.
But he maintains he is up to the task and looking forward to building a new era at Old Trafford.
He added: "I’m excited by the whole project. I know it’s a great responsibility being in charge of this great club.
"And it’s a big responsibility, but the only thing I can promise is I will do it to the best of my ability.”
