ESF 2019: The Future and Heritage Of Mercedes Safety Engineering (German) Mercedes-Benz accident research has been officially in existence since 1969, and from 1971 Mercedes has repeatedly provided an outlook on the safety technology of future generations of vehicles by means of an "Experimental Safety Vehicle" (ESV/ESF).
