Electric scooters are causing safety concerns in Singapore

Electric scooters have become a popular means of transport in Singapore.

But public opinion in the city state is divided regarding the personal mobility devices (PMD’s) because of safety concerns.

In the first half of 2019, PMDs were blamed for 54 fires.

Singapore’s Land Transport Authority has now announced that by 2021 it will ban all e-scooters without safety certificates.
