Κατασκευή βιβλιοθήκης ράφια-How to make a simple book shelf with pallets - Αν το κάνετε με νοβοπαν η μελαμίνη βάλτε γωνίες με ξυλόβιδες εσωτερικά,αν βάλετε πολλά βιβλία για να μην λυγίσει στη μέση βάλτε από ένα ξύλο όρθιο σε κάθε ράφι, σας ευχαριστώ

Another simple project is this wooden bookshelf, made out of pallets. These pallets have their boards already positioned to make a shelf.
You only need to cut pieces of a width of two boards, like the ones in the video, and also cut the protruding edges, and you have the shelfs ready to be screwd in position.

For the sides of the bookshelf you can use pieces of the same pallet, but in my case I didn't have enough, so I used wood board. Of course you can use wood board or chip board to make the sides, it's completely up to you.
If you use chip board, you'll need to attach the shelfs with screws, while in the case of wood board you can use either nails or screws. Both work equaly well. But nails on chip board is not a good idea.

In my case I desided to place the three slelfs in an arangement where the top shelf will be on the top of the wood board, and the other two at a distance of about 30cm. You can also place the top shelf a bit lower, so that the side can be used as a rest for the books. Just remember to leave an empty space towards the bottom, to form the "feet" of the bookshelf.

If you want to use nails, it's a good idea to pre install them on the side boards. Simply for your convenience. If you're using chipboard, it's better to use wood screws and pre drill the holes.
Litteraly a simple and reliable project. As simple as can be. You can paint it using plastic paint, to cover the pores of the wood and make it last longer. If you paint it with oil paint, the wood will absorb it and it would look untreated.
If you feel like it, you can pass a sand paper over it and then paint it. Totaly your choice.

Also, if you use chip board, it's a good idea to place metal elbows from the inside, to hold the shelfs and the whole construction in place.
