59歲的美國藝術家馬克·布拉特福特，是全球最重要的在世藝術家之一。馬克出生在洛杉磯中南部的一個少數族裔社群。他從小在單身母親經營的理髮店工作，15歲流連夜店，30歲獲得獎學金，在加州藝術學院完成大學、研究生學業，畢業後成為一名藝術家。他用商業廣告、海報等平民材料拼貼抽象畫，探討社會議題，在全球範圍産生共鳴。7月底，他來到上海龍美術館舉辦個展。展覽對所有人免費開放。 Mark Bradford, the 59-year-old American artist, is one of the most prominent living contemporary artists in the world. Bradford was born in South Central Los Angeles, an ethnic minority community. Mark helped with his single mother to run a hair salon since a very young age. He hang around in the nightclubs since 15 and didn’t go to college until he got a scholarship at 30. He went to CalArts for his undergrad and masters degree, then became an artist. He used everyday materials like commercial ads and merchant posters to do abstract collage and discuss social issues. His artwork resonates within a global scale. This end of July, Mark held his solo exhibition at the Long Museum of Shanghai. Access to the exhibition will be free to everyone.
