Arsenal tried to acquire Zaha's services this summer but failed in their pursuit of Crystal Palace’s star man. The Gunners tabled a £40million bid for the 26-year-old but had their offer for the Ivorian firmly rejected by Palace. The north Londoners decided not to table another bid for the winger, opting instead to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille. Zaha is a boyhood Arsenal fan and was said to be desperate to move to the Emirates.
