Well, you’d probably tell them that a limo is a long car that rich people drive around in when not attending charity fundraisers or filming major motion pictures. You might also mention that those in the middle-class often attend their proms or weddings in rented limousines. But what could you say about the actual design of a typical limo?
The definition of a limousine is surprisingly broad. Most people assume that they have to be exceedingly long and black, but the truth is that a limousine can be any color and can vary widely from what is generally considered an acceptable limo size.
Over the years, automotive manufacturers and daring would-be mechanics have pushed the definition of a limousine to its limits. They have produced bold takes on the traditional limousine design, with some scrapping it completely and building their own alternative limousine from the ground up. There have been limousines that once fought in wars. Limousines that are 100-feet long. And even limousines that were used as airplanes before being taken out of the sky and redesigned for street use.
