So Long Summer: Driving with the windows down to feel the setting sun
The wheels are on the road but my mind's thinking of the fun
That started back in June when all my tests were done
I packed my bags and filled my car and never did look back
Set my cruise control and drove until the sky had turned pitch black
The stars they guided me to that familiar, welcoming, dirt track
The water seemed to say hello as the reflection of the moon was dancing with the breeze
Hello summer oh how I have missed you so
Endless nights the campfire sets the night aglow
We'll reminisce about the times not long ago
And listen to our favorite songs on the stereo
The months will fly by
Then it will be time for us to say goodbye
Throwing out the empty cans and packing stuff away
The autumn breeze invites me to come back another day
It's no wonder why this place is our mainstay
Driving down that winding road I find I'm looking back instead
Peering in the rear view mirror hoping to see smoke and glowing red
Our summer story has been written let's hope it won't go unread
