Ansonia Officer Involved Shooting ***UPDATE: Connecticut State Police Investigate Officer Involved Shooting in Ansonia***

MIDDLETOWN, CT (January 6, 2020): On Thursday, January 2, 2020, the Danbury State’s Attorney Steve Sedensky requested that the Connecticut State Police - Western District Major Crime Squad investigate a fatal officer involved shooting that occurred at 81 Myrtle Avenue in the town of Ansonia.

In accordance with state statute, the Connecticut State Police is releasing video footage from three separate body-worn cameras which were activated during a fatal officer involved shooting. The video file being released contains all three body-worn camera videos. The first video is from Officer Brendon Nelson’s body-worn camera. The second video is from Officer Wojciech Podgorski’s body-worn camera. The third video is from Sergeant Christopher Flynn’s body-worn camera.

This footage is just one part of the on-going investigation. Detectives from the Western District Major Crime Squad will continue to investigate this incident. Once their investigation is completed, detectives will submit their findings to the Danbury State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
