Just a stones throw away from Hessle Road, the former heart of Hull's fishing industry, lies Devon Street in Gypsyville.
People living there say it is full of rubbish with a stench of rotting waste in the air.
There are bags of waste and even furniture outside people's homes, along with tenfoots crammed with four-foot high piles of soiled nappies, televisions and mattresses. Rats have also been spotted in the area.
Hull City Council says it takes the crime of fly-tipping seriously and will remove waste dumped on public land.
But in areas that are privately owned such as tenfoots, the council says the removal of waste is down to the people that live there, but says it does support prosecutions if the culprit is found.
A dad that has lived down Devon Street for the past four years with his wife and three children says that the street is "beyond help" due to the constant fly-tipping.
