1. CHSE Odisha HSC result for science stream has announced yesterday . The exam convener Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) of Odisha will be soon disclosing the result of class 12th apparently for Arts and Commerce stream shortly on its official website.
2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Draft National Education Policy has pitched for implementation of three-language formula in schools all around the country initiating Hindi as one of the compulsory subjects for the students of non-Hindi speaking states. The students in Southern states except for Tamil Nadu, learn Hindi but they find English and their local language more useful and beneficial for future use.
3. The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer has declared the RBSE 10th result yesterday on their official website.
4. The University Grants Commission (UGC) is planning to conduct a review for the quality of PhD thesis for which doctoral degrees have been awarded in last 10 years by varsities across the country. The commission has invited proposals to conduct the study over a period of six months.
5. The State Bank of India (SBI) will conduct preliminary examination for selection of Probationary Officer (PO) on June 8, 9, 15 and 16. Admit cards for the SBI PO prelims have been released online on their official website and candidates can download the same. The examination will be consisting of three sections-- English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability—summing up for 100 marks and there are 2000 vacancies.
6. The All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test will be held on July 14 for admission for postgraduate courses in AYUSH-- Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy system of medicine. National Testing Agency (NTA), government's entrance examination conducting body, will be conducting the exam.
7. On Monday, an official release said that All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has granted approval for five courses of FTII under its newly-created Applied Arts and Crafts category. The film school is the only Institution in this category in country to received such recognition.
8. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is set to undergo a change from August with the duration shortened and scores mentioning the best sections of an individual's test if the exam is taken more than once. The Educational Testing Services (ETS) is working for making changes in the test with the changing demands of the educational institutions.
9. The ugly division between reserved and open category pupils in institutions of higher learning has come to the fore again with Dr Payal Tadvi's suicide case. This in-depth attempts to trace the journey of backward class students to make it to premier institutes such as TISS, medical colleges, IITs.
10. Priyanka Chopra visited Ethiopia to raise awareness about UNICEF. The Goodwill Ambassador, PCJ walked into classrooms, hospitals and even watched a football match in the East African country.
