Why the United States of Europe is a Brexit Lie

In order to get enough people to vote for Brexit, the leave campaigns had to tell an awful lot of lies. One of them was that the UK would be giving up various aspects of its independence in the EU and that it was already agreed in the Lisbon Treaty. They referred to this ever closer union as the United Stated of Europe. But it was a lie.
